Image result for severe heel pain

Have you ever had pain in your foot so bad that you would rather just sit around all day and not get off the couch? Has is hurt so bad that you hate taking that first step out of bed in the morning? The truth is, is that you are not alone. You may think to yourself “Hey, I just have to get on with life and deal with this pain.” This is far from the truth. Your heel pain may be caused by something called plantar fasciitis, which is caused by a ligament that runs the length of your foot and can cause a lot of pain and swelling. Your plantar fascia acts as a shock absorber and over time this can cause wear and tear on that ligament. This can be caused by a number of things, such as wearing unsupportive shoes like flip flops or being flat-footed.

A typical symptom of plantar fasciitis is a stabbing pain that can occur when you get up and stand on your feet. Most people often feel this in the heel or arch of the foot. It can start out as dull, aching, or stabbing and most often will get worse over time if left untreated. There are a lot of ways to treat plantar fasciitis and the good news is that it is 100% curable and almost never requires surgery! It might just seem like dealing with the pain or ignoring the problem is easier. We are all busy, but it is worth it to get rid of that pain! If left untreated, you may develop other foot, knee, and back problems because of altering the way you walk as a result of the pain.

At Emerald Coast Podiatry, we treat plantar fasciitis and all of its symptoms. Don't deal with the pain just because you think you don't have any other choices! We have two convenient offices for you to visit:
